Learn the beautiful art of sitar in an intimate setting from one of Florida's senior most exponents -- performer and teacher Bharati Chokshi. Having learned sitar from her early childhood, Bharati Chokshi's classes systematically guide students from the very basics of position, technique, and fingering, to the more subtle aspects of Indian music including raga treatment and tala (rhythmic) conception.
Bharti began learning with Sri Ramchandra Khare of Ahmedabad, India and later under the great Srimati Manju Mehta of Jaipur Gharana. She has performed extensively on stage and radio both in India and the United States. She is presently teaching and performing in the Ft.Laudrdale area.She has performed at 'All India Radio' in Ahmedabad, India 1977; Herman Hospital, Houston; J.C.
